Genoa have missed the chance to move up to fourth place in the Serie A standings, after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Palermo.
Both sides had excellent chances to win with Palermo wasting more opportunities. But the best chance of the match was squandered by the hosts, who, nevertheless climbed to fifth, a point behind city rivals Sampdoria, reports Xinhua.
Paulo Dybala put Palermo in front in the seventh minute Monday when he cut into the penalty area from the right and curled his shot spectacularly into the far corner.
Genoa secured a share of the points thanks to Luca Antonelli's leveller after half the hour-mark.
