Rio de Janeiro, July 11 (IANS/EFE) Argentina football legend Diego Maradona has said Germany will enter the final Sunday with big egos after handing hosts Brazil their worst World Cup defeat ever in the semis.
Maradona said Germany's enlarged ego will benefit the Argentina team and hoped that Messi's side will be able to surprise the 'Mannschaft', reports Efe.
Maradona praised Mascherano's performance against the Netherlands in the semifinal Wednesday, adding that Messi did not display what was hoped from him due to exhaustion. Argentina defeated Netherlands 4-2 in penalties after ending regulation and extra time 0-0.
Maradona, who won the 1986 World Cup but lost the 1990 edition against Germany as a player in the finals, said that Alejandro Sabella's players do not consider defeating the Germans as impossible.
