UTV Motion Pictures' domestic comedy "Ghanchakkar", that released Friday, has collected Rs. 7.2 crores in India on its opening day.
Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan play the lead role in the Rajkumar Gupta-directed film that was made under the budget of Rs. 20 crores.
"INDIA:#Ghanchakkar Fri Rs 7.2 cr (sic)," tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Prior to the film's release, Emraan and Vidya were seen heavily promoting the film on TV shows like "Indian Idol Junior" and "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6", among others.
