Golfer Gauri leads on first day

Defending champion Gauri Monga played superbly to catapult into the lead on the first day of the fifth DGC Ladies Open Amateur Golf at the Delhi Golf Club here Tuesday.

Recording a brilliant -3 under par score of 69, the course record holder's first round consisted of nine pars and six birdies. Lying second on 75 is Amandeep Drall of Chandigarh, six shots behind.

The host of events that make up the concurrent Delhi Ladies Golf Week include DGC's Sifat Sagoo in the lead for the Junior Trophy and Rakshita Singh of Army Golf Club for the sub-junior.
