St. George's (Grenada), Sep 4 (IANS/CMC) Grenada footballers want to know how the country's football association, GFA, intends to utilise $750,000 received from the world's football governing body, FIFA.
More than a dozen clubs affiliated to the Grenada Football Association (GFA) submitted a letter to president Chenny Joseph seeking answers, reports CMC.
The letter signed by 14 clubs also requests a council meeting to discuss the absence of a General Secretary as well as the approval by the Executive Committee of a task force.
"It is our understanding that US$250,000 has already been received. This plan should be communicated to us in the form of a written document," the letter Wednesday said in reference to the FIFA money.
"We the undersigned clubs, in our capacity as affiliated of the Grenada Football Association, hereby request an Extra Ordinary Council Meeting in accordance with article 31(2) of the GFA Statues".
The GFA has an outstanding arrears in excess of half a million dollars and the clubs also want to know the plans of the association to address the debts and the current state of accounts payable.
