Separatist guerrillas Wednesday evening shot at and killed a police constable in Kashmir, police said.
A police officer told IANS that constable Altaf Ahmad of Niana Batpora village in Pulwama district, 45 km from here, was shot at and seriously injured by militants at his home.
"He was shifted to hospital for treatment, but succumbed to injuries while being taken to the hospital. The constable had gone to visit his family in the village when the militants targeted him," he said.
"He was posted in district police lines Srinagar," the officer said.
