A 47-year-old Gurgaon resident was arrested for accommodating four foreigners and not informing about their stay here, police said on Wednesday.
Amit Bafna, a resident of upscale R.D. City here in Sector 52, was arrested by Gurgaon police under the Foreigners Act 1946.
Police teams have been searching guest houses, Paying Guest accommodations and hotels ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Gurgaon on 'Haryana Day' on November 1.
"Bafna accommodated three Afghanis and a Yemeni national in his paying guest (PG) accommodation but did not follow mandatory rules of filling up Form C," a senior police officer told IANS.
"Among the Afghan nationals is a doctor, a woman and a patient. The Yemeni citizen was here for medical treatment. All four were staying in Bafna's PG accommodation for over two months," he said.
"All foreigners were carrying all necessary legal documents, so no action was taken against them," the officer added.
