Gurgaon will soon get a modern judicial complex, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said Saturday after laying its foundation stone.
The new complex with special features will be built at a cost of Rs.225 crore.
Though the initial cost is estimated at Rs.113 crore, it would go up to Rs.225 crore by the time construction ends, as it will include lawyers' chambers and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre.
The main building will be nine storeys, housing 55 court rooms with a provision of 10-15 new court rooms in the future.
Every floor will have waiting area and sitting place for assistant district attorneys (ADAs).
On the first floor, there will be Bar room with sitting capacity of 1,500 people. For the first time, women advocates will get a separate Bar room. It will house a big library on the same floor.
The ground floor will have Single Window System and Centralised Filing System.
Taking note of firing incidents in courts, a provision for separate way and lift for accused coming to courts has been made.
The area of ADR Centre here will be double that of other districts in the state. This centre will have 20 mediation centres while other districts have only six such places.
There will be separate block for facilities like banks, post offices, etc. It will cater to the need of 5000 to 10,000 people who daily visit courts in Gurgaon.
Hooda said the advocates should not only do legal practice but also show the right path to society.
The chief minister announced he would give Rs.21 lakh from his discretionary quota for purchasing books and furniture for the library at the new complex.
