British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) was the fastest in the first free practice for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone here on Friday.
In his best lap at the 5.891-km-long Silverstone circuit, Hamilton, three-time world champion, made a time of 1:31,654 minute -- faster by 33 decimals than his teammate and Championship leader, German Nico Rosberg, who came in second, reports Efe.
German Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) came in third, while his compatriot Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), world champion for four consecutive times, came in fourth.
Australian Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) was fifth.
