Haryana cabinet minister Rao Narbir Singh and Minister of State Vikram Thekedar Sunday assured the local populace here of exemption from toll charges for their vehicles passing through Kherki Daula on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.
Narbir Singh said: "We will ensure that people from villages near Kherki Daula gate should be exempted from toll charges. We will speak to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding this issue."
Thekedar and BJP MLA Randhir Singh Kapriwas echoed his sentiments.
Local residents met the ministers at a function here.
According to the Millennium City Expressway Private Ltd. (MSPL), the firm that operates the expressway, nearly 25 percent of the vehicles passing through the toll gate did not pay the levy, causing heavy losses to the operator.
