Registering 224 and 80 sale deeds respectively within four working days has invited penal action for two revenue officials in Haryana.

The speed at which these two officials registered the sale deeds in December last year led to their suspension.

The Haryana government Friday suspended Manesar Naib Tehsildar Sanjeev Kumar with immediate effect and ordered disciplinary action against Ferozpur Zhirka Tehsildar Vijay Singh for registering sale deeds without obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOC). Both were posted in Rewari tehsil at that time.

The action followed complaints received by Gurgaon divisional commissioner Rajeev Ranjan that a large number of sale deeds were registered in Rewari without obtaining NOC.

The divisional commissioner had directed the Rewari deputy commissioner for a detailed report in the matter.

"Preliminary inquiry revealed that large number of sale deeds, in violation of section 7A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975, were found registered in just two weeks which also had a number of non-working days," a state government spokesman said.

"Two revenue officers were found to be involved in this. While Vijay Singh registered 80 sale deeds in four working days, Sanjeev Kumar registered 224 sale deeds in just four working days from Dec 24 to 31, 2014. This is almost three times sale deeds registered by tehsildar," the spokesman added.

He said it was found during the inquiry that almost half of such sale deeds were registered without obtaining necessary NOC.

In all, 109 irregular sale deeds were registered in just four working days, which is more than the total number of regular sale deeds registered in the same tehsil by another tehsildar in the same number of working days.
