Health problems forced Goa governor Mridula Sinha to stop her speech midway during her address to the Goa assembly on the first day of the budget session on Monday.

Sinha was sipping a lot of water and appeared visibly restless when she stopped her speech while making a point about cleanliness and the efforts made by the Goa government to promote it.

Sinha, 73, is a noted Hindi author and also an ambassador nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his flagship "Swachh Bharat" campaign

Speaking to reporters after the ailing governor's departure from the state assembly complex, Speaker Rajendra Arlekar told reporters that Sinha had "health problems", which forced her to stop her speech after about 40 minutes.
