Heatwave conditions prevailed in Odisha with 12 places recording maximum temperatures above 40 degree Celsius on Saturday, the met department said.
The western Odisha town Bolangir recorded the maximum temperature of 43.4 degree Celsius followed by Jharsuguda at 43.2 degree Celsius and Sonepur at 42.6 degree Celsius.
The maximum temperature recorded in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack was 39.2 degrees Celsius and 38.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to the regional met centre, the heatwave conditions will continue for a couple of days.
