A 30-year-old drug trafficker was arrested in Delhi with 500 gm of heroin valued at Rs.1.25 crore in the international market, police said Thursday.

Javed Ali, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Kanjhawla in west Delhi on a tip-off when the consignment of heroin was about to be delivered to a contact.

Javed Ali came to Delhi with his family ten years back and settled in Mangolpuri. He came in contact with a local drug peddler a few years back.

"He procured heroin from a contact in Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) and sold it to local drug peddlers," said Additional Commissioner of Police (crime branch) Ashok Chand.
