Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday said the state has submitted a project for Rs 157 crore for channelisation of Seer rivulet and also sought a loan of Rs 85 crore from BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) for infrastructure projects in Sarkaghat area of Mandi district.

Addressing a public meeting in the Sarkaghat assembly constituency, the Chief Minister said an additional Rs 26 crore has been sanctioned by the Central government for the constituency under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

He said there was all-round development in the one year tenure of the BJP-led government, and he has visited 63 state assembly areas to ensure personal contact with the masses.

He further said the Jan Manch programme of the government has proved to be successful in redressal of public grievances.

Taking a dig at the previous Congress government in the state, he said that it had left a loan burden of Rs 46,500 crore due to financial mismanagement under its rule.

"Now, Opposition leaders are trying to intimidate the government by submitting charge sheets against the functioning of the ruling government. The fact is that the opposition has nothing adverse to say against the government," he said.

Thakur said that the state government will hold a function at Dharamshala on December 27 to mark the completion of one year in power, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the state-level function.
