Himachal to have IT institute

The central government has approved the setting up of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Himachal Pradesh, a minister said here Wednesday.

The IIIT centre would be set up in Haroli tehsil in Una district, an official statement quoting Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said.

He said the site selection committee constituted by the union government had approved 60 acres of land in Saloh village for the institution, which would be established in public-private partnership mode.
