San Antonio Spurs and Spain basketballer Pau Gasol says he has never given up on the idea of representing his nation where he has always felt loved.
In a publicity event held on Monday, Gasol said: "My idea of playing with the national team remains the same. The approach will be to take each year as it comes, analyse how my body adapts to the workload and see how I feel at the end of the season."
The Spaniard said he will determine whether or not to play with Spain during EuroBasket 2017 next summer, according to how the season develops with San Antonio Spurs, reports Efe.
He also said that losing the gold medal game against the United States in Rio 2016 Olympics was a pity, but reiterated that it is hard to win everything in life.
Gasol emphasised that his conscience is clear regarding the defeat and praised the performance of the US players.
