Atletico Madrid's Brazilian defender Filipe Luis hopes that they rather not draw crosstown rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.

Atletico Madrid marched to the Champions League's semis on Wednesday after a stunning 3-2 aggregate win, eliminating defending champions FCBarcelona in the quarters, reports Efe.

The draw will be held on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.

"We prefer another team than Real Madrid. We cannot choose, but if we can avoid them, it's better. Real Madrid knows a lot about us: our style, how we play, and they are a strong team," said the Brazilian left back, who said the team wants to go further than just the semis.

"Yes, we are happy, but we are quite contained. It was a great game, a great effort; everyone has given everything they had to in this game. Now we are in the semis but we want to go further, and we have an important match (against Granada FC) this weekend," he added.

Filipe has described the match as the best of his career.

"The match against Barcelona in 2014 used to be the best of my life. Last year I thought about that a lot. I thought I would never live a moment like that again in my life but today it was not only equal but better. Football always gives you those things that sometimes you do not even expect," added Luis.
