Rome, Aug 3 (IANS/AKI) A 55-year-old man on Wednesday confessed to stabbing his 59-year-old wife to death during a row in the southern town of Cava Tifatina.
Nicola Piscitelli went to the police station carrying a blood-stained knife and told police he killed Rosaria Lentini during a row and led them to the spot in open countryside where he had dumped her body.
Lentini's corpse was wrapped in a sleeping-bag and had 12 stab wounds in the back.
A women is murdered every three days in Italy, usually by a current or former partner, according to the Telefono Rosa domestic abuse helpline.
