Idea Cellular, India's third largest mobile operator, saw its net profit rise by 143.8 percent during the April-June first quarter of 2013-14, the company said here Thursday.
It posted standalone profit after tax of Rs.482.9 crore for the first quarter of 2013-14 against Rs.198.1 crore clocked during the corresponding period last fiscal.
"The multiple drivers of this sharp profitable growth have been robust voice and mobile data revenue coupled with scale benefits and better cost management," the company said in a statement.
Idea, which operates in 36 countries, is a part of the Aditya Birla Group.
