Singer Idina Menzel will sing the American national nnthem and John Legend will sing "America the beautiful" at the Super Bowl XLIX, the National Football League (NFL) and National Broadcasting Company (NBC), have announced.
The announcement was made Friday.
Both performances will be televised live on NBC from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona Feb 1, as part of the worldwide Super Bowl pregame broadcast. Treshelle Edmond will perform both songs in sign language, reports variety.com.
Katy Perry will headline the half-time show.
NBC's pre-game and half-time shows are NFL Network productions, for which Ricky Kirschner will be the executive producer.
