The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has barred as many as eight start-ups from taking part in their campus recruitment drives after they backed out of job offers last year.

"They had withdrawn or cancelled the offers last year so this year they will not be visiting the campus," said the institute's placement chairman Debasis Deb.

A total of 31 start ups have been blacklisted by IITs across the country.

Around 10 to 12 start-ups have been allowed to participate in campus placements at IIT-Kharagpur this year.
