India and Myanmar Wednesday held the 14th round of foreign office consultations here, and discussed a host of issues including trade, investment and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to travel to Myanmar in November.
A press release said the Indian delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh while the Myanmar delegation by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs U Thant Kyaw.
While Modi is scheduled to travel to Myanmar for the East Asia Summit/ASEAN-India summit, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will travel to Myanmar in August for the East Asia Summit/ASEAN Regional Forum ministerial meeting.
The release said the two countries share a close and cordial relationship rooted in historical, ethnic, cultural and religious ties.
During the talks, both sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations as well as matters of international importance.
Matters pertaining to political and parliamentary contacts, security, trade and investment, development cooperation and capacity building, connectivity and infrastructure development, energy, culture and people to people linkages were discussed.
The Myanmar minister also paid a courtesy call on Sushma Swaraj.
