An Indian man in Bahrain, who broke a car's side rear view mirror in the hope of getting deported to India, has been sentenced to jail for two months.
The 33-year-old Indian labourer did not want to pay for the ticket to go home and hence broke the side rear view mirror of a private car hoping that he would be deported to India, the Gulf Daily News reported Friday.
"I wanted to go back home," the man was quoted as saying in statement.
"However, I did not know what to do and I kicked the car's window and smashed it (side rear view mirror) to pieces so that I could be deported back to India," he said.
A lower criminal court judge awarded him a two-month jail term without deportation on the charge of damaging private property and said that the crime committed was minor.
