A court in Dubai has sentenced an Indian national to three months in jail followed by deportation for molesting a Zimbabwean woman.
The Dubai Court of First Instance has found the 23-year-old Indian air-conditioning technician guilty of groping a student, 21, in a lift in the Morocco cluster of the International City of Dubai Sep 25, the Khaleej Times reported Tuesday.
The International City is a large residential complex and is home mostly to expatriates.
The Zimbabwean student said the accused tried to grope her in the lift as she was about to walk out.
The victim reportedly pushed the Indian man away and immediately called the police.
Based on the footage from the security cameras in the building, the police zeroed in on the Indian man.
The man then admitted to the crime.
