An Indian-origin couple, both aged over 100, will become Britain's oldest married couple when they celebrate their 88th wedding anniversary later this week.

Kartari and Karam Chand's son Paul Chand, who runs the Castle pub in Bradford city, is throwing a party Dec 15 on the wedding anniversary of the couple, The Telegraph & Argus reported Wednesday.

The couple are still waiting to hear from Guinness World Records if they have the longest marriage in the world.

The couple celebrated their 101st and 108th birthdays last month with people coming from all over the world.

The couple have eight children, 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
