InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, the owner of IndiGo airline, on Tuesday reported that its net profit increased by a whopping 294.4 per cent to Rs 551.55 crore in the quarter ended September 30 in the current fiscal, as compared to Rs 139.84 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Revenue from operations for the quarter under review was at Rs 5,290.9 crore, up by 27 per cent from the Rs 4,166.9 crore in the year ago period.
"Profitability for the quarter was favourably impacted due to better revenue management compared to last year as well as credits received from Pratt & Whitney and Airbus related to aircraft groundings and delivery delays," the airline said in a statement.
For the quarter, passenger ticket revenues were at Rs 4,523.4 crore, as increase of 25.7 per cent and ancillary revenues were at Rs 623.12 crore, up by 11.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.
