Brazilian superstar forward Neymar Jr. has said on social media that the groin injury he suffered in the first few minutes of a friendly against Cameroon was not serious.
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star was visibly in pain when he left the field at Stadium MK outside London before the 10-minute mark of Tuesday's game, which Brazil won 1-0, reports Efe news.
His replacement, Richarlison, scored the game's only goal shortly before halftime.
"Thank you to everyone who sent messages wishing me a good recovery. I don't think it was anything serious," Neymar wrote on Instagram on Tuesday night.
Referring to the Brazilian national side's performance in 2018, the squad's captain said he and his teammates were happy with the work they put in despite their elimination in the quarter-finals by Belgium at the World Cup in Russia.
"These last few matches were important in recovering from the biggest blow, which was the World Cup. We remain strong, focused and with the goal of continuing to get better. Congratulations guys, for everything," he said.
Brazil has won all six friendlies it has played since losing to Belgium.
