International Olympic committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach said that the Sochi Winter Olympic Games will be held safely.
"All security arrangements have been made and all measures are in place," the German said at the Sochi airport Friday, reports Xinhua.
"We have worked closely with everyone responsible. I am very confident that these games will be great."
The Sochi Games will be Bach's first Olympic Winter Games as IOC president since he replaced Jacques Rogge on Oct 9, 2013.
Bach is scheduled to run with the Olympic torch prior to the opening ceremony Feb 7.
