Iran's defender to miss Asian Cup
Iran's defender Hashem Beikzadeh will miss the 2015 AFC Asian Cup football tournament due to a hand injury.
Beikzadeh suffered a hand injury in Iran's training camp in Australia Tuesday. He was transferred to the hospital and underwent a scan to determine the extent of his injury, reports Xinhua.
The doctors confirmed the unavailability of the 30-year-old left back for the tournament Thursday.
Iran has been drawn in Group C along with Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
The AFC Asian Cup will begin Jan 9 in Australia.
