Iran's Persepolis defeated hosts Al Wahda of the United Arab Emirates 3-2 in the group stage of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League at the Al Nahyan stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The 28-year-old Vahid Amiri put Persepolis on the scoreboard in the fourth minute of the encounter on Tuesday, Xinhua news agency reported citing Press TV.
After the interval, Al Wahda players tried hard to draw level and their efforts finally paid off in the 58th minute, when forward Ismail Matar found the back of Persepolis's net.
Valdívia got Al Wahda the lead in the 64th minute. The hosts' celebrations, however, did not last long as the visitors put them under pressure to reduce the deficit.
Mehdi Taremi of Persepolis scored the equaliser in the 80th minute.
In the dying moments of the match, the 24-year-old Taremi converted a shot and snatched a glorious 3-2 victory for Persepolis.
