Jerusalem, May 14 (IANS/EFE) Hundreds of Israeli women took part here on Friday in a SlutWalk procession, protesting rape and sexism and advocating for gender equality.
Though women have often gone topless at other SlutWalk events in Israel and around the world, organisers of the fifth annual procession in Jerusalem complied with authorities' request to tone things down.
A few men joined the women for the march.
Born in Canada in 2011, SlutWalk has developed into an international movement against rape culture and the practice of blaming victims of sexual assault.
