It pains when house does not work: Sumitra Mahajan

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday expressed sadness over frequent disruptions and adjournments in the lower house, saying it actually "pains" her.

"The house is (there) to put your point (across). It actually pains me when the house does not function," she told reporters outside Parliament House.

Both the houses of Parliament have witnessed frequent disruptions and opposition uproar over demonetisation and other issues ever since the winter session began on November 16.
