Actor-producer Anil Kapoor threw up success party for his TV serial "24" and urged his entire team to let their hair down. He calls it one of the best parties of his life.
"24", an adaptation of the hit American TV series of the same name, went on air Oct 4 and the final episode will be shown on Dec 21.
"It was my most memorable party ever in the film industry. Everyone in the '24' team has slogged to make it work. We all deserved to let our hair down," said Anil.
When asked why he chose to remain sober while ensuring everyone at the party got drunk hesaid, "Of course, I didn't drink. I was the host! If I didn't remain sober how would I look after my guests?"
However, everyone presumed Anil was sozzled to the gills.
"He danced to 'My Name is Lakhan', screamed every guest's name as though he or she were his long-lost best friend, pranced around with energy-level of kangaroo on steroids and made sure no one glass was empty. He was in his element all right," said Richa Chadha, an Anil fan who did a cameo in the hit TV show.
Anil's brothers Boney and Sanjay also showed up to express solidarity. Strangely the wives of all three Kapoor brothers were missing.
Mandira Bedi, who plays a pivotal role in "24", said she couldn't attend the do due to a prior family commitment.
Said Mandira, "I had to miss the party because I had my brother in town from Singapore. He visits only once a year. And I had a dinner for him at home. So I couldn't get away. The '24' party was planned much after my dinner was locked in. So I missed out on all the fun with the '24' team."
