Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli confirmed Monday that his side will play a pre-World Cup friendly with Luxembourg at the Stadio Curi in Perugia June 4.
The game had been planned ahead of the Azzurri's flight to Brazil for the tournament but the venue remained to be set, Xinhua reported.
The game will provide an opportunity to celebrate Perugia's promotion back into Serie B, which was decided at the weekend.
Prandelli also assured the public that his squad are "ahead of schedule" in preparation for the upcoming World Cup.
He was pleased to be able to have called a preliminary squad together last month to put the players through some fitness tests.
"I'm glad that the league allowed me to carry out these tests," he said.
"We have all the data that will allow us to start work straight away when the lads finish their seasons. We're ahead of schedule," he added.
