Oscar-winning actor and voice artist J.K. Simmons will join Mark Wahlberg in the Boston Marathon bombing drama "Patriots' Day".
The film is based on the account of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. Wahlberg, Scott Stuber, Hutch Parker, Dylan Clark, Stephen Levinson and Michael Radutzky are producing "Patriots' Day", which begins shooting next month in Boston.
Simmons will play Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese of the Watertown Police Department, reports variety.com.
Four days after the 2013 bombing, the off-duty officer jumped fences and went through backyards to flank bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
Wahlberg, a Boston native, will portray a Boston Police Department officer who was central to the investigation and manhunt.
