Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is set to co-star with Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Ferguson in American film and television production company Skydance's sci-fi film "Life".
Daniel Espinosa is directing the film, with David Ellison and Dana Goldberg producing it along with Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn, reports variety.com.
The script was written by "Deadpool" writer duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
The story of "Life" follows the crew of the International Space Station, who, after retrieving a sample from Mars, discover that it displays signs of life, and proves to be more intelligent than expected.
This year, Gyllenhaal is also expected to star in "Stronger", which is based on the true story of a victim of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing who helps the police track down the killers while struggling to recover from devastating trauma.
