Jan Dhan Yojana a success: Modi

He urged the poor to continue their association with banking through the scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) has achieved "remarkable success" in serving the poor through banking.

In his Mann Ki Baat radio address, Modi said the scheme had allowed the poor to save Rs.22,000 crore in accounts for which the mandatory minimum balance to be maintained was zero.
