FC Schalke 04's Japanese defender Atsuto Uchida will miss next month's AFC Asian Cup football tournament due to injury.
His place will be taken by Kashima Antlers defender Naomichi Ueda, the Japan Football Association said Sunday, reports Xinhua.
Uchida injured his right knee in July and has been struggling with fitness problems since.
