Jennifer Hudson to make broadway debut
Singer-actress Jennifer Hudson is to make her Broadway debut with "The Color Purple".
The former "American Idol" contestant will play sultry blues singer Shug Avery in the revival of "The Color Purple", set between 1909 and 1949, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The musical co-produced by Scott Sanders, Roy Furman and Oprah Winfrey will premiere this fall.
