Actor Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Aaron Cross in the fifth film in the "Bourne" franchise.
Universal Studios has shown a green signal to another movie in the spy thriller franchise, as they have hired screenwriter Anthony Peckham to pen a script for the movie, reports deadline.com.
The 42-year-old's first brush with the franchise came with the 2012 film "Bourne Legacy", in which he starred alongside Rachel Weisz.
Initially, Matt Damon played the key character Jason Bourne in three films of the franchise - "The Bourne Identity" (2002), "The Bourne Supremacy" (2004) and "The Bourne Ultimatum" (2007). But then, he stated that he wouldn't return to do another "Bourne" movie unless director Paul Greengrass, who helmed the 2004 and 2007 movies, also returned.
