Comedienne Joan Rivers has been moved out of the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital here, but she continues to be in a medically-induced coma and on life support system.
The 81-year-old has been shifted to a private room at the Mount Sinai Hospital since Thursday after being hospitalised after a routine throat operation, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Rivers was admitted to the hospital following a cardiac and respiratory arrest and was placed in a medically-induced coma by doctors.
Her daughter Melissa has been by her side, and she has kept worried fans updated with the latest news of her condition.
Melissa has released a statement saying: "My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support."
As of now, the family has not revealed when Rivers will be taken off life support, brought out of the coma, and how long it may take her to recover.
