Actor Josh Brolin has been roped in to play the role of Cable opposite actor Ryan Reynolds in upcoming superhero film "Deadpool 2".
Brolin is already seen as supervillain Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), reports variety.com.
The film will be helmed by "John Wick" co-director David Leitch. He joined the project last year after Tim Miller dropped out due to creative differences with Reynolds.
Released in 2016, "Deadpool" minted $782.6 million at the box office worldwide, replacing "The Matrix Reloaded" to become the highest-grossing R-rated film in history.
Cable aka Nathan Summers has often been paired with Deadpool in the Marvel comics.
A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
