Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) Monday announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Jindal Shaheed Iron and Steel has commissioned its two million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant in Oman's Sohar.
"The facility, using state-of-art technology from Danielli Italy, is Oman's first and largest steel melting shop (SMS), and also the third largest unit of the Middle East and Gulf Region," JSPL said in a statement here.
Jindal Shadeed has invested over $800 million in this integrated facility, it added.
JSPL said the steel melting shop was commissioned in a record 23 months from the date of beginning the site work.
