Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who turned 61 on Saturday, visited popular Tamil writer Ki. Rajanarayanan and honoured him.
"Kamal visited Rajanarayanan at his residence this morning in Puducherry along with Suka, the writer of his forthcoming Tamil film 'Thoongaavanam'," a source close to Haasan told IANS.
The source further added that Kamal honoured the prolific writer with Rs.100,000 and spoke briefly about his health, among various other things.
A recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, Ki Ra, as he's fondly known, has served as the professor of folklore studies in Pondicherry University in the 1980s.
On Saturday, Kamal will host a special birthday party for family and close friends here.
