Editor-in-chief of widely circulated local English daily Greater Kashmir has been nominated as a member to the prestigious Editors Guild of India.
Fayaz Kaloo has been nominated to the Editors Guild of India and invited to the guild's meetings in New Delhi on November 14, a statement issued by the guild's secretary Prakash Dubey said on Thursday.
Kaloo is the first editor from Jammu and Kashmir to make it to the prestigious organisation representing veteran editors of the country.
Kaloo and success of Greater Kashmir is an inspiration to over a dozen other English dailies that started publication in the Kashmir Valley.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, his daughter and Lok Sabha member Mehbooba Mufti, former chief minister Omar Abdullah are among dozens of people who greeted Kaloo on the occasion.
