Reacting to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's claim on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi could even get him (Kejriwal) murdered, the BJP said it is not surprised as Kejriwal is used to levelling such accusations.
"Kejriwal is evidently high-strung. It shouldn't come as a surprise because he is used to levelling accusations and allegations," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Nalin Kohli told IANS.
"He is the only Chief Minister who does no work, has no work, because not even one department is with him. And, an idle mind is a devil's workshop," Kohli added.
He said he would advise the Chief Minister to pick up some work and focus on the promises he made to the people of Delhi before the elections.
"If he picks up some work, he will soon realise there is no time on his hands to make such allegations. Working people have no time to indulge in such mudslinging. Only idle minds indulge in conspiracy theories," the BJP leader said.
Asked if witch-hunting was going on against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators and activists, Kohli said the AAP members were inviting trouble by going against the law. AAP members were not above the law, he added.
"If you want to avoid trouble, just don't break the law. Now, if you break the law, you cannot expect special treatment," he said.
Kejriwal on Wednesday alleged that Modi was so furious with the AAP that he can even have him (Kejriwal) murdered.
In an open appeal to his party volunteers, ministers and legislators, Kejriwal said the Aam Aadmi Party was passing through a "critical time" and the situation was sure to worsen.
Accusing Modi of acting in anger and trying to crush the AAP, Kejriwal said: "They can have us killed. They can even have me killed... I am telling all MLAs, anything can happen."
