German Angelique Kerber, fought hard for her second win as she defeated Romania's Simona Halep, 6-4, 6-2 in the Red Group of Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals here on Tuesday.
World No.1 Kerber, with the previous win over Slovak Dominika Cibulkova (7-6(5), 2-6, 6-3), is ahead in this group with 2-0, very close to reaching the semi-finals, something that can happen on Tuesday if Dominika defeats United States' Madison Keys, eliminating the latter, reports Efe.
World No.4 Halep defeated Keys in her first match in the Red Group in Singapore.
