Key Indian equity indices open flat

Key Indian equity indices opened flat on Monday following cues from Asian markets.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 52.97 points or 0.19 per cent higher soon after opening.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 19 points or 0.22 per cent higher at 8,602.40 points.

The Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange, which opened at 27,776.14 points, was trading at 27,726.57 points (at 9.16 a.m.), higher 52.97 points or 0.19 per cent from the previous day's close at 27,673.60 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 27,803.21 points and a low of 27,684.59 points in the trade so far.
