Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT) chairman RPS Kahlon was on Wednesday night arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.20 lakh, police said.
"KoPT chairman Raj Pal Singh Kahlon and D.D. Jagtap Dattaji Director of Bharat Calcutta Containers Terminal Limited, arrested for making over and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.20 lakh," said a police officer.
A joint team of the city police and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) interrogated the duo at a city hotel before they were arrested.
The duo has been booked for criminal conspiracy and under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
